This Sparkling Pure White Hyundai Sonata Spotted in the Philippines

A Hyundai Sonata in pure snow white, spotted parked in front of an old office in Quezon City. The Sonata was about nine years old, counting down to its tenth birthday, but was still in pristine condition. Truly, a car taken care of.

This certain Sonata model started its development under the code YF in 2005, which dispensed costs up to $450 million. Afterwards, the mid-sized sedan commenced its production in 2009 until the release of the Sonata's succeeding generation in 2015. In the domestic market, the Sonata was priced at an affordable but lavish cost of ₱1.450 million to ₱1.610 million. It was a great and worthy mid-size alternative to the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry.

The gorgeous sedan shown here had distinct looks that would catch looks from passersby in traffic, featuring teardrop-shaped projection headlights and a gleaming chrome grille. This design produced, promoted Hyundai's "Fluidic Sculpture" design language, which was new at the time, with the Sonata being Hyundai's second vehicle to present it, after the Hyundai Tucson.

The car's rear also did not falter one's impressions. It had the same design language as the front with its structural shape and liquescent-like tail lights. The rear bumper was also fitted with amenities such as rear fog lamps and back-up cameras.

The car's overall design was aesthetically pleasing to the eye. To add more to its luxurious name, it was equipped with intelligent key locks, seen on the vehicle's chrome door handles, and LED turning lights.

In the heart of all this, its center core did not fail. The car was fitted with a 2.0 L I4 engine, capable of producing power up to 163 brake horsepower, with a torque of 197 Nm. Finally, to finish it off, it was mated with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Despite all the vehicle's exuberance and spirit, it was followed with a few problems. Although not seen here, the interior was flooded with rubberized plastic, showing the brand's more budgetary constraints. However, this was alleviated with the sedan's abundance of electronic gadgets found all over the car, from its cruise and stability control, to its high-end touchscreen radio.

However, in the face of all this, the local market's mid-size competition wasn't that big compared to smaller subcompacts or bigger SUVs. Today, Sonatas, including this, are an uncommon sight on the road.
