The Trendy Crossover, the Changan CS75 Plus Spotted in the Philippines
The bold SUV you see now first started off as the CS75. It started its production in 2013 as a more tame and conservative version of the CS75 Plus manufactured mainly for the Chinese market. The new version you see today debuted in 2019 as a heavier type of facelift done to the original CS75. The one featured here came with a 1.5L turbo engine capable of producing up to 178 brake horsepower and 265 Nm of torque.
Although the official top speed hasn't been announced yet, its internal engineering has become much more efficient compared to older Chinese cars, such as the GAC Trumpchi GA3, where it was only able to produce 122 brake horsepower on a 1.6L engine.
With a quick look at the rear, the design cues take a more modest approach. Despite the back end having a much simpler arrangement, it still features its streamlined style incorporated into its structure and layout of the tail lights and the diffuser, not forgetting its dual exhausts.
And from the side, its muscle-like body partnered with its dark plastic side skirts truly gives it a modern feel. And that modern feel doesn't fail when it comes to the interior, its high-class digital instrument cluster put next to its 4K quality infotainment screen satisfies the needs of many of its customers.
However, the question still pertains: "Does it all work together?" Its abundance of electronics may be its downfall when they fail, or its build quality, which many people are still not familiar with when it comes to Chinese automakers. With these in mind, numerous consumers may still hold back on getting one of these, but if these all do come together, the Changan CS75 Plus, and its familiars may be the next big thing on the road.
